Eva Mendes Could Benefit From Mommy Makeover (Could You?)

Dr. Michael Gray No Comments

Just about everyone was surprised to hear that actress Eva Mendes was pregnant. There was a lot of speculation as to whether she was pregnant or wasn’t. Many tried to determine if her body looked different in paparazzi photos and rumors of her pregnancy had been percolating through the tabloid magazines since July. Even when TV talk host Ellen DeGeneres asked Eva Mendes about the pregnancy rumors back in February on her show, Mendes denied she was pregnant and called the rumors “ridiculous.” Last week, however, Mendes and her partner Ryan Gosling welcomed a baby girl into the world thus ending the rumors, according to Us Weekly.

Mendes and Gosling aren’t the only famous celebrities to try and maintain some privacy during their pregnancy. It might seem difficult to keep a pregnancy under wraps, but it’s important to remember that a new mother was only obviously pregnant for a few months of the pregnancy. That’s not too difficult to keep from the public eye. What is difficult is getting your body back to what it looked like pre-pregnancy. After all, a lot of skin growth takes place during pregnancy  thereby making your belly, boobs, butt and thighs look much different than how you remember them.

Sarah Silverman’s Uneven Boobs Can Be Fixed

Dr. Michael Gray No Comments

Actress and comedian Sarah Silverman has never been shy of sharing her opinion. She is notorious for her cutting edge wit and raunchy humor. So, it was no surprise when earlier this year she gave her opinion on cosmetic surgery. Silverman told Glamour magazine, “I know, aging is like a really slow-moving horror movie, especially for women. But the lines on our faces are valuable. When I see people with fillers or weirdo stretched-out faces, I’m like, You look crazy.

Easy for Sarah to say because she still looks great at 43. The reason that many women Sarah Silverman’s age — both Hollywood celebrities and your average person — elect to use Botox and fillers is because it helps maintain a more youthful, attractive look. It’s possible that Sarah doesn’t require that today, but she might have a change of heart in the near future. Even if Sarah continues to avoid use of fillers for her face, there is one place on her body that she might consider having cosmetic surgery.

Just Be Human and Do Good

Dr. Michael Gray No Comments

As a world renowned cosmetic plastic surgeon, Dr. Michael Gray of the Michigan Cosmetic Surgery Center has found that many people think that cosmetic surgeons favor the tangible (physical) aspects of humanity over the intangible characteristics. That is simply not the case. Dr. Gray has practiced as a cosmetic surgeon for many years to help humans feel better about themselves on an emotional level. For many individuals — both men and women — just feeling better about their outward appearance makes them have a more positive demeanor. Oftentimes this more positive demeanor leads to Dr. Gray’s patients practicing more acts of goodness — doing justice.

Butt Enhancements On the Rise

Dr. Michael Gray No Comments

With the number of famous celebrities who have well-known behinds on the rise, many average people are choosing to get butt enhancements too.

Like many other types of cosmetic surgery procedures, the butt enhancement has become very popular thanks to the inspiration of these “cheeky” celebs like Rihanna and Nicki Minaj. The buttocks has become an increasing target for surgical enhancement by the less well endowed in that area. In fact, so great is the urge for a desirable derriere that the numbers for this procedure doubled last year over the 2012 figures, according to the American Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.

There have unfortunately been reports that many women are being conned into cheap, illegal procedures performed by quacks who promise to deliver the same results as trained and certified professionals at a fraction of the cost. According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the number of cases of people posing as fake surgeons to perform this kind of treatment is increasing, especially in Michigan, California, Florida, New York and Texas. It is imperative that those who wish to undergo the butt enhancement procedure only go to a competent cosmetic plastic surgeon like Dr. Michael W. Gray of the Michigan Cosmetic Surgery Center and Skin Deep Spa in West Bloomfield, Michigan (a suburb of Detroit).

Why’s Everyone Talking About Gummy Bears?

Dr. Michael Gray No Comments

If you’ve been hearing your friends talk about Gummy Bears a lot lately, it’s not because they’re nostalgic for the delicious gummy candies we all loved as kids. Gummy Bears are another way of talking about silicone breast implants. The term “gummy bear breast implant” is the catchy nickname given to silicone breast implants because when cut in half, the implant is “cohesive” and retains its shape — just like those colorful and chewy gummy bear candies.

“Gummy Bears” look and feel more like natural breasts, but they are also safer than older silicone implants because they have a lower rupture rate. “What many women are calling Gummy Bear implants are a cohesive gel and form-stable,” Dr. Michael W. Gray of the Michigan Cosmetic Surgery Center in West Bloomfield, Michigan explained. “These New ‘Gummy Bear’ breast implants, which I offer at my cosmetic surgery center in Michigan, are safer than older type of silicone implants which were liquid versus a contained cohesive form. In the event of a rupture, the silicone will not potentially migrate like older silicone implants.”

Why “Botched” Is Such a Popular Reality TV Show

Dr. Michael Gray No Comments

If you’ve ever seen an episode of the highly popular reality TV show “Botched” on E! Online, you know that it’s possible for talented plastic surgeons to repair the poor outcomes and mistakes of other surgeons. On the television show, doctors fix surgeries that have gone wrong.

As seen on the “Botched” reality TV show, Dr. Michael W. Gray, of the Michigan Cosmetic Surgery Center and Skin Deep Spa in West Bloomfield, Michigan, has been a leader in corrective cosmetic surgery for many years. Dr. Gray knows a lot about correcting many of the deformities and errors created by other surgeons, as well as fixing less desirable outcomes as a result of poor healing. One of the most common procedures Dr. Gray performs is correcting the problem of “Bottoming Out,” which is also known as breast implant displacement or a “mound on a mound ” deformity. This is a process where breast implants can slide down the abdomen and “bottom out” over time. The bottoming out deformity can occur as a result of a surgeon creating a space outside of the borders of a breast. When this happens, the loss of tissue support at the bottom half of the breast can allow the breast implant to move downward on the chest, gradually lowering the natural bottom (crease fold) of the breast. Dr. Gray repairs the “Bottoming Out” problem so that the patient won’t even remember there was ever a problem.

The before photo below demonstrates a patient who was operated on by a surgeon who placed the breast implant on the left outside the border of the breast. This is seen by the mound on a mound deformity (double bubble deformity) on the left side. Dr. Michael Gray is one of a few surgeons trained in repairs of “botched” surgeries. As you can see in the postop photo to the right, Dr. Gray reconstructed the supportive elements of the left breast.

Hey Doc: How Long For My Scar to Heal?

Dr. Michael Gray No Comments

Each year thousands of men and women from around the world walk through the doors of the Michigan Cosmetic Surgery Center in West Bloomfield, Michigan to seek out the expertise of Dr. Michael Gray for plastic surgery. Many of these men and women ask Dr. Gray the same question: “How long will it take for my scar to heal?”

The truth is that as much as cosmetic surgeons like Dr. Michael Gray would love for each patient’s scar to heal immediately, that simply is not the case. Plastic surgeons do not control how quickly the body heals or how the body heals. Each human being is different. As such healing is an individual process and occurs at different rates.

The chemical that is produced by humans when injured is called Fibrin Glue. All humans produce the same chemicals whether it is Insulin, Estrogen, Testosterone, Thyroid Hormone, etc. The difference which exist with humans is not the chemical each human makes, but rather the AMOUNT they make. Most humans produce the right amount of chemicals which explains why most humans are not diabetics. Also, when it comes to an injury or an incision, most humans produce just enough Fibrin Glue where the two sides of the incision bond together as a fine line. Some humans — a minority — produce more Fibrin Glue and this causes the skin to heal farther apart producing a widened scar. Another subset of humans produces more Fibrin Glue and a mound forms at the location of the incision. This is called a Hypertrophic Scar, which is often confused with a Keloid. The last type of healing process occurs in the rarest of all humans and that is called the Keloid Scar. A Keloid Scar is when, for unknown reasons, the production of the bodies natural glue exceeds to the point that it extends up and over the sides similar to the appearance of a mushroom. The Keloid Scar appears more commonly in African Americans, Asians and Indians. Keloid scar formation is unlikely to occur and extremely unusual occurrence in Caucasians.

Dr. Michael Gray No Comments

Have you heard of Simona Halep? She’s got close to half a million Facebook fans because she’s currently the 4th seed at Wimbledon! She got to that level by practice… and by having breast reduction cosmetic surgery!

Many think that women who have breast reduction surgery do so for purely cosmetic reasons. Not true! There are many women who choose to get smaller breasts with cosmetic surgery so they can run faster and perform better on the playing field. Some female athletes have experienced significant performance enhancement thanks to their breast reduction plastic surgery, including female soccer players, swimmers, basketball players and marathon runners. For many women, breast reduction surgery helps their body look better proportioned.

For one female tennis player competing in the current Wimbeldon tournament, her smaller breasts have turned her into a better competitor on the tennis court.

Tennis-Hottie-Simona-HalepSimona Halep had breast reduction surgery to go from a 34DD to a 34C, and that cosmetic surgery has helped her game a lot. So much so that she is now the number three seed at Wimbledon. Simona says that her reaction time has improved many times over since the procedure. She’s even currently ranked higher than former women’s tennis champion Maria Sharapova. According to a recent article, Simona underwent the breast reduction surgery to improve her reaction time and speed. A tennis expert admiring her improvement since the surgery noted: “She is more confident, more mobile and her strokes are less restricted now that those obstacles have been reduced.”
