Dating Again? Remember: Your Eyes Show Your Age

Dr. Michael Gray No Comments

Whether you realize it or not, our eyes tell a lot about us. The way our eyes are seen to others demonstrates expression and emotion. If you have bags around your eyes or a lot of wrinkles, people will begin to think you might be older than you actually are. Also, the natural effects of gravity cause the skin around your eyes to sag and wrinkle, which can make you look sad, angry or tired.

Many celebrities and professional models choose to have cosmetic surgery performed on their eyes first, before any other body parts. It is essential to their careers that they look younger than they are.

It’s important that you look and feel your best. There are many times when we all want to look younger than we are. If you’re beginning to date again in your 30’s, 40’s, 50’s or 60’s, you want to look as young as possible, don’t you?

Cosmetic Surgery Must Be For YOU!

Dr. Michael Gray No Comments

People decide to get cosmetic surgery for many reasons. There is a common misperception that individuals get cosmetic surgery in order to please their mate. Truthfully, the most important reason for you to talk with Dr. Michael Gray at the Michigan Cosmetic Surgery Center and Skin Deep Spa is if you’re interested in having cosmetic surgery done for YOU.

Even famous celebrities don’t get cosmetic surgery for other people. They do it so that they feel better about themselves. That is first and foremost.

The ultimate goal of cosmetic surgery is for you to feel great about how you look. This alteration in physical appearance will directly affect how you feel emotionally and mentally. Of course, your significant other will love the way you look, but it’s essential that the number one reason you do this is for your own health and wellness.

The Post-Pregnancy Mommy Makeover by Dr. Michael Gray

Dr. Michael Gray No Comments

It’s been an impressive list of celebrities who have had babies so far this year. The list of new parents reads like a Who’s Who in Hollywood. Alec Baldwin’s wife Hilaria Baldwin delivered a new baby, as did Kate Middleton, Penelope Cruz, Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian and Kristen Bell. And if you take a look at these celebs post-baby photos in the gossip magazines you’d think they magically returned to their pre-pregnancy look immediately after leaving the hospital.

But not so quick! Remember that many hours of Photoshop magic are spent on making these women look perfect on the glossy pages of the magazine. Photoshop only works for printed images and not for real life when new moms head to the beach or swimming pool or just to the health club. After childbirth, many new mommies struggle with the changes their body underwent during the nine months of pregnancy. Proper nutrition and exercise will only get you so far because it’s a challenge to get your tummies, breasts and thighs to return to their pre-pregnancy shape. This challenge often causes many new mommies to lose self-esteem and become depressed.

Arms Like Jennifer Aniston and Sandra Bullock

Ever wish you had Celeb Arms? Famous celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Sandra Bullock have arms that are the envy of most women. There’s no flab there; their arm muscles are toned and beautiful.

But of course not everyone has thin looking, muscular arms. Many women are embarrassed by their arms. They’re flabby and unflattering no matter how long they spend in the gym with personal trainers and on diets. Many women have loose arms from weight loss or aging. Those are just facts of nature. For three seasons out of the year — spring, summer and fall — we’re wearing short sleeves which make many women self-conscience. Summer is bathing suit time and no one wants to head to the beach or swimming pool when you’re embarrassed about the way your arms look.

So, how can YOU have arms that you’re proud of rather than arms that you want to always cover up?

Dr. Michael Gray No Comments

There are certain things that we all take for granted. Shaving, like brushing our teeth, is one of those things that we just consider to be a fact of life. We presume that after a certain age in our youth we’ll be doing this daily task forever.
female-legsHere are some facts about shaving you might not have realized:
* The rate at which human hair grows is 0.35 millimeters a day or 1 centimeter per month
* 90% of all adult males shave at least once a day
* Women spend 72 days shaving their legs over the course of a lifetime, meaning approximately 1,728 hours
* A man will shave at least 20,000 times in his lifetime or about 5 months of their lives
* Shaving ranked as women’s most hated beauty ritual
Neither women nor men ever enjoy shaving, let’s be honest. Do You Want To Shave Forever?
Well, at the Michigan Cosmetic Surgery Center we have a new method for hair removal that I think everyone will appreciate. Cool Glide is the newest and most diverse laser procedure for all skin types.

Cosmetic Surgery Isn’t Just for Celebs

Dr. Michael Gray No Comments

I was listening to the radio the other day and I heard the DJ ask listeners to call in and tell who their favorite celebrity is who has had cosmetic surgery. Callers began reporting names like Courtney Cox, Kim Kardashian, Jamie Lee Curtis and Heidi Montag. But those are just the names of celebs who talk openly about their procedures. The truth is that the majority of famous actors and actresses have all had cosmetic procedures done to look (and feel!) better.

As I listened to the names of these famous stars I thought about the thousands of regular people (celebs in their own right!) who I have helped through the years. For too long in my opinion there has been confusion that cosmetic surgery is only for the rich and famous. That is simply not the case. While it is the celebs like the Kardashians or Howard Stern who are in the news about their cosmetic surgery, it is the millions of people who experience successful procedures each year who we don’t hear about.
